Welcome to Film Friday everyone!
This year, my fiancée and I are taking on the ABC challenge… where you watch a film for every letter of the alphabet! Just as luck has it, we’ve BOTH chosen films so we have 52 films… so one a week! I’ll give you a monthly update on how we’re getting along (with the hopes that we get through 4 letters a month).
At the time of writing this, we’ve currently watched our first 7 films and I thought I’d share them here!

My choice: 12 Angry Men

I watched this for A Level psychology and it was nice to revisit it again. That one juror was dead angry. And there was one v attractive juror too. It was really interesting watching this again… so much that can still be picked out of this! A fascinating look at human psychology.
Rach’s choice: AI, Artificial Intelligence

This was NOT what I expected it to be. It was so much darker than I expected. All the poor kid wanted to do was to be loved by his mam. The brother was not kind. Not at all. Love a surprise Jude Law appearance and as that robot man he was kinda sexy.
My choice: The Artist

This film is just lush. I remember seeing the trailer for this all the years ago and thinking ‘this looks amazing – I want to see it’. And I did, alone, in the cinema when it came out. Watching it again, I really enjoyed it!
Rach’s choice: Birdman

I just didn’t “get” this. Like it was beautiful… but I just didn’t get it. We love Michael Keaton though.
My choice: Black Swan

This was one of the films that totally passed me by when it was released – I knew of it, and I obviously saw so much about it… but I just didn’t go and see it at the time. I’m glad that Rach has such an extensive collection that I found this! We watched it and it was darker and more sexual than I was expecting. But I did really enjoy it. What a joy to see Mila Kunis. I loved all the dancing. The ballerina man was not the one.
Rach’s choice: Contact

We watched this cause Katya (yes, the drag queen) talks about it all the time on UNHHH… and it was worth it. I thought it was pretty interesting, but I wouldn’t do what Jodie did ha. Not brave enough. Surprise Matthew McConaughey was a delight. Loved the like SHOOKETH at the end.
My choice: Chicago

Like Black Swan, this is another one I’ve just not got round to seeing. Obviously, I know the songs cause musicals are a jam and cause Glee!, but never got round to watching the film. I really enjoyed it. What’s not to love? The glamour of the 20s, singing and dancing, and a funny as hell character in Roxy.
