Hello everyone!
I hope you are all well!
I’m stopping by your timelines today to share 4 books that I read and loved last year that made me smile, laugh and made my heart happy!

Loki: A Bad God’s Guide to Taking the Blame by Louie Stowell

Odin has given Loki another chance to prove himself worthy of Asgard. But earning everyone’s trust is tricky, and when Thor’s hammer goes missing, everyone blames Loki! Outrageous! To clear his name he must:
1. Find Thor’s beloved hammer
2. Uncover the real thief
3. Force everyone to admit they were wrong
An easy feat for someone as handsome and clever as Loki…
After loving the first book so much, I was thrilled to get my hands on the second book. I honestly didn’t want to put this down. Loki is full of humour, full of evil plans and his perspective of the mortal world brings me so much joy – like you have no idea. I love seeing glimpses of the mythology in this. I chuckled away loads at this! And I love Louie’s illustrations too – so much to look at! Can’t wait for the next one now!
The Wobbly Life of Scarlett Fife by Maz Evans

Scarlett knows she should be happy about all the big news that her family wants to share. But the worry is making her dizzy, and being dizzy is making her worried… Feelings are like slime in a party bag. No matter how much someone tells you to keep it in, it’ll always find its way out. And very soon, Scarlett notices that every time she pushes her worries down, they shake her world. Literally. It might be a huge vase full of pet ashes. Or 2669 sugar cubes in a world record-breaking attempt…
This is another glorious sequel that Maz has got spot on. Maz just GETS funny books that are full of feeling and characters who are relatable. This is funny, smart and has glorious messages about worries. Scarlett has big feelings; her family is all change and she’s not sure what to do about the worries she has. I just adored this. This made me chuckle and cry! This has gone down an absolute storm at school and we all can’t wait for the next one (I am asked on the regular)!
Space Blasters: Suzie and the Moon Bugs by Katie and Kevin Tsang

Suzie Wen LOVES gadgets and inventing things – but her inventions don’t always turn out how she expects . . . And after a massive invention mishap, Suzie is now living on board the space ship from her favourite TV show – exploring new planets and saving the universe!
I had the absolute joy of reading this on Boxing Day (I know, I’m just catching up with a lot of reviews now) and Boxing Day reading is best when you’ve got Katie and Kevin to keep you company! Their other books have been amazing; Dragon Realm series and Space Blasters 1 have gone down an absolute treat. I loved this new Space Blasters. Suzie and her crew get to go exploring on a new planet, see a strange new bunch of creatures and Suzie continues to be brilliant and clever to solve the problems. I love seeing how they all work together – it really makes me happy! I am excited for more from this series – it’s so fun!
Dead Good Detectives by Jenny McLachlan

Sid Jones loves hanging out in the graveyard with her best friend Zen – they are desperate to see a real-life ghost! But when Sid accidentally summons a 300-year-old pirate from the dead, it opens the door to the HALFWAY HOUSE – a magical inn FULL of lost souls from across the ages, all trapped there by a sinister landlord. There are more ghosts that Sid could ever have imagined – and they’re all sure Sid is there to save them! (Sid’s sure there’s been some kind of mistake.) But someone else is watching, and they’re not happy about Sid helping the ghosts . . . TICK, TOCK – TIME IS RUNNING OUT!
Gosh, this is so lush. Pirates, friends, missing treasure and a halfway house full of ghosts who need help. There’s loads to love about this! The illustrations by Chloe Dominique are just exceptional and the story had me gripped and smiling from the get go. Sid is such a lush main character and with a friend like Zen, they’re the perfect detective duo! I genuinely can’t wait for the next one now! I cackled through a lot of this and the next one is sure to make me do just the very same!
