ThursTAG: A January tag!

Good morning!

I hope you are all well!

I am back with another tag… Today, I’m taking on a January themed challenge!

I hope you enjoy!

***

1. What’s a book you’ve read so far in 20231 that’s cheered you up?

At the time of writing, I’ve only read one book… and would I recommend it? Absolutely yes! It was The Kingdom Over the Sea by Zohra Nabi and it was just EXCELLENT. It’s out in May and you all need to make sure you get on it!

2. Recommend a book set in Winter.

Ooooh. Winter books aren’t really my thing… but a winter-esque book? Bird and Squirrel on Ice by James Burks. A very fun, silly graphic novel that properly made me smile.

3. Recommend a book set in the dark.

Ser in the dark? What does that even mean? I mean you don’t get much darker than Death, so I’d recommend Valentine Crow and Mr Death by Jenni Spangler. Blooming loved it!

4. Recommend a book set in a cold climate.

The Arctic Assassin takes places in Sweden… in particular a place called Kiruna which is part of Swedish Lapland – it’s the place my brother lives and I was DELIGHTED when I read it!

5. Recommend a book that takes place over a whole year.

OOOH. Queen Mel has released a 2023 almanac that I can’t wait to get into (I should probably read January some time soon eh?) That takes place over a whole year… and THIS year in particular!

6. Recommend a cosy spot to read.

Since I moved in with my fiancée, I read on the sofa, under a quilt and I love it.

7. Recommend a reading snack.

I don’t tend to snack while I read. I might have a cup of coffee on the go though!

8. What books are you most looking forward to coming out in 2021?

Oh lord. I hate questions like this because I start naming some and then I ALWAYS miss some out… so can I cheat and say all of them?

9. Are you feeling any better about it being January now?

January as a month gets a bad rep. It’s my birthday month (and my best friend’s and my brother’s too). I mean is it still dark and wet and miserable? Yep… but I like it!

Thank you so much for stopping by once again to ThursTAG. If you’d like to have a go at this, please do!

If you have any recommendations for tags you’d like to see me do/tags you’ve done, I’d love to see them! See you all soon!

Oh lord, I also read only one book so far (well, finished that is) and it was a dark read- not at ALL something that cheered me up 😂 though my current read would count.

Hey, what I do like about January is it being not holidays anymore.. coming from someone born only a few days afterr christmas 😅
