ThursTAG: The Joy of Christmas book tag

Good morning guys!

It is ThursTAG once again, and I’m here fully embracing the Christmas joy with:

The Joy of Christmas book tag!

I hope you enjoy this! Feel free to steal. If this is your tag, please let me know so I can credit you!

Anticipation: The Christmas excitement is real, what book release(s) are you most anticipating?

I’ll be honest. I am excited for ALL THE BOOKS. I JUST LOVE BOOKS.

Not that it’s coming out any time soon, but the new Sara Barnard book is coming out next year and I’m so so excited. I ADORE Sara’s books and she’s just a ray of sunshine… so if you don’t already, please go read her books.

Christmas Songs & Carols: What book or author can you not help but sing it’s praises?

Guys. I know. I know what you all know. You ALL KNOW who I love, so there’s no point me beating around the bush. Here’s a list of MANY that I adore everything from:

  • Melinda Salisbury (I know, you’re shooketh)
  • LD Lapinski
  • Ross Montgomery
  • Maz Evans
  • Kiran Milwood Hargrave
  • Sara Barnard
  • Laura Steven
  • Jason Reynolds
  • Elle McNicoll
  • John Patrick Green
  • Carlie Soroziak
  • Louie Stowell
  • Katherine Webber/Katie Tsang
  • Anna James
  • Aisha Bushby
  • Tom Palmer
  • Laura Ellen Anderson

Is that enough recommendations for you? I’ve probably forgotten someone I love dearly like.

Gingerbread Houses: What book or series has wonderful world building?

Is it cheating to always recommend Melinda Salisbury’s books for this kind of prompt? Cause honestly, she is the queen of world building.

A Christmas Carol: Favourite classic or one that you want to read?

I’m gonna be honest (like I am every time a classics question comes along), they don’t really appeal to me. Maybe I need you all to vote on a classic for me to read… cause then I might actually bother.

Christmas Sweets: What book would you love to receive for Christmas?

Any. All. Some. Many.

Just books are the best gift.

Candles in the Window: What book gives you that warm fuzzy feeling?

Again, there are loads of answers I could’ve given for this, but recently I read Operation Nativity by Jenny Pearson and that made me so so happy.

Christmas Trees & Decorations: What are some of your favourite book covers?

Oh god. Nope. This is the kind of question I can spend HOURS answering.

Christmas Joy: What are some of your favourite things about Christmas and/or some of your favorite Christmas memories?

Having Christmas with the Burns family. Spending Christmas with my family. This year will be my first Christmas with my fiancee and I am so excited to share it with her – I made a ‘film a day’ Advent for her this year and I’m loving seeing the films she chooses. I love Christmas. I love how festive it is. I love having time off to share with friends and family. I love all of the (incredibly stressful) festivities working in a school.

And that’s it for the festive fun this ThursTAG.

I hope you enjoyed this and let me know if you’re going to have a go! I’d love to see your answers!

That’s a really fun tag. I loved reading your answers. Even though I’m mainly retired it’s still been lovely to go back into school and do the carol service. Christmas in a primary school is just …….. indescribable really
