ThursTAG: The New Year Book Tag

Good morning ThursTAG friends!

I hope you are all well on this here Thursday!

I figured since I hadn’t really done a New Years thing, I’d find a New Years blog tag and get on with it! I know we’re already 2 weeks or whatever into the year, but better late than never right?

How many books are you planning to read this year?

So I always set my Goodreads target to 104 (that’s 2 books a week). Do I always surpass it? Absolutely always do, but I think it’s a realistic target to be honest. There are weeks when I don’t read (hello term time) and there’s weeks when all I do is read (hello school holidays). Last year, I read about 160, so I know it’s way more than doable… but I think it’s a good target to set!

Name five books you didn’t get to read in 2021, but want to make a priority in 2022?

Lol, LOADS OF THEM.

  • Inkheart by Cornelia Funk (not out in 2021 I know, but I bought them in 2021)
  • Gilded by Marissa Meyer
  • Hexed by Julia Tuffs
  • Murder on Safari Star by MG Leonard and Sam Sedgman
  • Vox by Christina Dalcher

Name a genre you want to read more of in 2022?

Hmmm… maybe like mysteries? I do love a good whodunnit moment. But I just love fantasy that they always win haha.

Three non-book related goals for 2022?

I honestly, so much. I’m not a resolutions kinda gal to be honest (because fear of failure hah). However…

  • Keep running
  • Establish and maintain a better work/life balance
  • Embrace change

What’s a book you’ve had forever that you still need to read?

Gosh, so many. I haven’t yet read THUG (which shocks a lot of people) and I haven’t read the Grisha trilogy. Will I get round to them one day? Likely. Is that day today? Unlikely.

Thanks for stopping by for this quick post!

I’d love to know what goals you have for this year! Or what’s a book everyone else has read that you haven’t?!
