April in books

Good morning!

IT’S WRAP UP TIME!

April has been, gone and left us all in its wake. We are now steam rolling into May! The sun is shining (sometimes) and there is joy to be had! I had a pretty productive reading month in April because of Viperthon!

IN APRIL, I READ 16 BOOKS

I managed to get through so many because of the glorious Easter holidays – woohoo! No doubt my May total will be less!

What did I read in April?

Middle grade novels?

I read a lovely range of middle grade books in April – with stuff for kids of all ages here and interests! Funny, historical, books with messages, books with amazing characters, some brilliant magic and all sorts in between! I really like the range of books I read in April – some of them were a deviation from my normal “I LOVE MAGIC” and I think my brain really appreciated that! Other reviews to come!

Graphic novels?

Again, graphic novels are still proving to be a massive hit in my classroom! I discovered this Far Out Fairytale series by accident and I bombed through 4 of them in the past month (and some more have since arrived, so I can’t wait to read them!).

YA books?

Continuing on my ‘I still love YA books but I don’t seem to be reading many’, I had a proper stellar month of YA in April. From space to horror to gorgeous stories of acceptance and love, I think there’s something here for everyone.

SO BOOK CHALLENGES YOU SAY?

So, my tracking of books on Goodreads and Storygraph? I find that because I read so many kids books Storygraph doesn’t have as wide a range as Goodreads does and I seem to have a lot of bother adding books via the webpage – this might just be me. If you have bother too, let me know!

2021 BOOKS READ: 70/104

And that’s about it for this month!

What did you read in April?
What was your favourite read in April?
What are your reading aims for 2021?

Talk to me in the comments, or shout at me on Twitter! I’d love to talk and know what’s worth reading! Reviews for all of these will be up soon!
