Desert Island Books – Ross Montgomery

Happy Tuesday everyone! How are we all?

Today we have one of my favourite authors of all time sent away to Desert Island of Booklessness – the fabulous and incredible Ross Montgomery. He’s the brilliant author of some incredible books: Perijee and Me and The Building Boy. Not only these ones but I can’t wait for the ones that are coming this year/next year! I suggest if you have children in your life then you get on to Ross’ books… because they’re incredible! If you’d like to follow him (which you probably should) you’ll find him @mossmontmomery and check out his brand new, shiny website – clicky click (I love his new website, it is SO gorgeous!)

Anyway, Desert Island Books are go:

DIB rules

You are allowed to take 6 books of your choosing. These can be any 6 you wish.
I’m going to take:
Great Expectations, because I’ve reread it more than any other book and that probably means something;
Infinite Jest, because it’s massive and sprawling and I’ll keep finding new stuff;
Michael Rosen’s Sad Book, because it’s perfect;
The Collected Work of William Blake, because I’ll either need inspiring or more likely go a bit nuts and that’s perfect for either;
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, because I utterly love it;
Lord of the Flies, because I love it but also because I’ll suddenly be grateful for being on my own.

You are allowed to take a snack of your choosing: this will be provided in an unlimited quantity.
Limes! Put it on anything and it makes it better, or turns it from terrible into something that tastes of limes.

You may choose from unlimited supplies of tea or coffee.
Thank Christ. Coffee. I literally can’t write books without it. Instead of tea I’ll have hot lime water.

You are entitled to carry with you 1 music album/playlist (not surpassing 15 songs).
UGHHGHHGH. It’s between The Wicker Man soundtrack or In The Aeroplane Over The Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel in terms of which album I’ve listened to the most… neither are fabulous choices are they? Let’s go for The Wicker Man soundtrack so I can be inspired to be burn a giant effigy every night for warmth.

You MUST CHOOSE ONE BOOK and ONE SONG from your playlist/album that you get to keep when the Desert police come along.
Collected Works of William Blake! Then my madness will be complete.

Thank you Ross for coming along and agreeing to be castaway!
