Good morning!
Thanks for stopping by today!
I’m really loving sharing whole series that I love with you guys and I’ve loved hearing all about the series that you love too. I’m stepping into new territory today! So far, I’ve only recommended novel series, but there are so many graphic novel series out there I could recommend that I’m sharing one with you today!
Today, I’m sharing what is arguably one of the most popular graphic novel series in my classroom (and now, my entire school). This series has mass appeal and almost ALL of my Y6s have read though Amulet by Kazu Kibuishi!

Book 1: The Stonekeeper

LOVED THIS! No wonder its recommended EVERYWHERE. I need to get the rest of them now! A young girl finds a strange necklace which turns out to be a magical stone. With the help of her brother, she goes to save Mam and comes across some interesting characters on the way! This is a brilliant fantasy story with robots, talking rabbits, strange alien creatures and a walking house. Just brilliant!
Book 2: The Stonekeeper’s Curse

This was brilliant! Book 2 follows on just as book 1 ends. This features some pretty epic battles, strange characters, wisdom-filled trees, a fight to keep power from taking over and the power of working as a team. This is gorgeously illustrated! Really love Leon and I hope he sticks about! I need to get my hands on book 3 now!
Book 3: The Cloud Searchers

This series is just brilliant. Full of adventure, new characters who add so much, a whole load of peril and our wonderful crew. The sense of not quite knowing everything, but knowing some bits is glorious. Man, I hope these people are who they say they are… otherwise Emily is in bother! I adore the illustrations in this! As I’m reading this series, I’m getting more and more into it! Now to track down book 4!
Book 4: The Last Council

My Amulet adoration continues! I really love this series. Every new addition gets me more and more into it! This is full of deceit, reuniting and discovering some truths! I thought the new characters brought loads to this… I just hope they’re allies and not enemies! Now I need to track down book 5!
Book 5: Prince of the Elves

Oooooh, that was BRILLIANT! Big battle scenes, new faces that add a lot of intrigue to the story and some pretty perilous positions for our characters! Very curious about Max and what he’s going to add to the story! I love how this story is building and am totally invested! That ending – I can’t wait to see how it goes next! This was the darkest of the books so far but oh so delicious!
Book 6: Escape from Lucien

Book 6 in this epic series and it continues to amaze me. There’s SO MUCH going on and more than one story being told, but they’re woven and told so well you’re with them all the way. Battles, ships and new faces! I love where this is going. And the artwork? Incredible. I am blown away by each book and I can’t wait to see where this story goes next!
Book 7: Firelight

OH MY. You can NOT leave me there! That is a cliff hanger and a half. I think this might be my favourite of the series so far. I am INVESTED in this gang and it’s taken a turn for the worst. Emily, Emily, Emily. What are you doing? There’s so much going on – memories, dreams, submarines, enemies, allies. I can’t get over this story: it gets more interesting but never too complex! Just incredible!

The saddest thing of all is that I OWNED a copy of book 8, but I have lost it somewhere… so I’m going to have to get it so that I can FINALLY round off this amazing series!
A MASSIVE WELL DONE TO KAZU FOR THIS SERIES – A DELIGHT FOR THE EYES AND THE MIND… AND SO FULL OF ADVENTURE THAT EVERYONE WANTS TO READ IT!
