Series spotlight: Mr Wolf’s Class by Aron Nels Steinke

Good morning!

Thanks for stopping by today!

I’m really loving sharing whole series that I love with you guys and I’ve loved hearing all about the series that you love too. I’m stepping into new territory today! So far, I’ve only recommended novel series, but there are so many graphic novel series out there I could recommend that I’m sharing one with you today!

Today, I’m sharing what is arguably one of the most popular graphic novel series in my classroom (and now, my entire school). This series has mass appeal from my lovely Y6s all the way through KS2. If you’re not yet reading Mr Wolf’s Class by Aron Nels Steinke, then PLEASE PLEASE get on it.

Book 1: Mr Wolf’s Class

This a great graphic novel about the first day of school. You meet a brilliant bunch of kids and their brand new teacher. This made me chortle and the teacher in me saw a lot of my teaching life in this. As soon as I read this, I knew this was going to be something I wanted to read more of, but the easy reading and the gorgeous illustrations are something I know my kids are also going to adore!

Book 2: Mystery Club

I loved the first Mr Wolf’s Class I read, and this was just as fun! With mysteries to solve and birthdays to be had, what’s not to love? Poor Mr Wolf – constantly being covered in something. These kids are great… and again the illustrations and the bold colours make this not only a treat for the brain but for the eyes too! I can’t wait for the next one… I shall be hunting it down ASAP!

Book 3: Lucky Stars

I loved my latest foray into the world of Mr Wolf! These always make me smile! When Mr Wolf tasks the class with writing personal narratives, there’s more than just stories happening! Friendship, holidays and accidents all round. I love these books so much!

Book 4: Field Trip

We are firm lovers of Mr Wolf’s Class in my classroom so getting my hands delighted my class to no end! The class go on a residential, have some fallings out and learn about how we can be kind to the environment. Loved this! These just make me smile! As a teacher, I’ve experienced all the things Mr Wolf has to go through… and residentials are always this eventful!

Book 5: Snow Day

I bloody love the Mr Wolfs Class books – I’ve been eagerly awaiting this one. Mr Wolf is a great teacher and his class are lovely to boot! What happens when it snows blizzards and Mr Wolf ends up stuck in school? Well, a very fun adventure with soup, frozen burritos and movies!

As I say, these graphic novels are well-loved by my class and the rest of KS2… I can’t wait for more (at least I HOPE there’s more!!)

A MASSIVE WELL DONE TO ARON FOR THIS SERIES – A DELIGHT FOR THE EYES AND THE MIND… AND ALWAYS MAKE ME CHUCKLE
