Hola my ThursTAG friends!
How are you all doing on this fine (?) Thursday? I hope you are all well and ready for another quick tag! I hope I shan’t ramble on for too long… but with me you never ever know ha!
This is one of those tags whose prompts I kept but didn’t keep record of where I stole them from, so please if this is your tag, let me know and I shall fully credit you!
SUNSHINE: A book that made you smile
There is something so incredibly charming about this book that it just made my heart sing. I’m reading it to my class at the minute and they’re just loving it. We can’t get enough of Leonard and his quirky sense of humour. We need more animals perceiving the world books from Carlie!
RAIN: A book you couldn’t put down
I’m gonna say most books. I can be quite a ‘greedy’ reader in that if I’m into a book, I won’t WANT to put it down, but the last book I truly couldn’t put down is this! It is so incredible and not a book that I would’ve picked up before this year (when my love of graphic novels truly hit).
WIND: A book that blew you away
Easily could’ve said the book for the previous question for this… but will go for variety! I adored Harley in the Sky an awful lot. I’d never read anything by Akemi before, but my friend Charlotte (hi boo!) told me that I should read this and I was hooked. Totally recommend this to every single human on the planet.
HURRICANE: A tragic book
LOL. WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY TRAGIC? Like bad? Or like heart-breaking? I’m going to go heart breaking. Despite the fact EVERYTHING makes me cry, I think this book properly stole my heart. Set in a very tragic time in history (WW2), this has just got the most incredible way about it… and it made me cry A LOT.
BLIZZARD: A book you had high expectations for
OOOOH, now this. THIS. I have read the rest of the series and in my opinion it’s one of the best for kids out there. It’s gritty and it’s tough, but my god is it full of heart. Having read the rest of the series, I had high high expectations for this… and it did not disappoint! If you’ve not read this series yet, a) WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? and b) get on it!
TORNADO: A book you didn’t like at first but ended up loving
Controversially this! The first few chapters I thought were a bit heavy and a bit too close to home, so I actually put it down the first time I read it, but then I went back to it and it blew me away.
And that’s it! Thank you so much for stopping by! I’d love your thoughts! Leave me a comment, or talk to me on twitter!
