ThursTAG: Hyped for Halloween

Happy ThursTAG everyone!

How are you all? Are you all reading at the minute? Are you big Halloween fans?

Personally, I’m not a big Halloween fan… but I saw this quick tag on my friend Amy’s blog and knew I had to get in the Halloween’y mood (because that’s about as much as you’ll get from me, ha!)

***

1. What book gave you the creeps?

The Ash House by Angharad Walker. I read it recently and it is pretty spooky! It’s like that great kind of on the edge of being scary and terrifying. It’s not OUT THERE, but it’s really tense.

2. What book gives you the best Halloween vibes?

The Witches by Roald Dahl. This is the quintessential Halloween book in my opinion. You can’t beat a bit of witches and spookiness – the new graphic novel version of this book spoke to me so much!

3. What’s your favorite vampire book?

Does Amelia Fang count?! She’s part vampire, part fairy! She’s lovely! I am so sad that series is over!

4. What book scared you so much you had to sleep with the light on?

I don’t read a lot of scary books on purpose because I’m quite easily scared… but I’d say The Vanishing Trick by Jenni Spangler is a great bit of spooky for a kids books!

5. What’s your favorite book about witches/goblins/ghosts/demons?

Shea Ernshaw’s books feature witches and they’re both incredible so far. Would 100% recommend them!

6. What book do you wish was scarier than it was?

Good Girls Die First. I think this book could’ve done with being just a TAD scarier. It had some brilliant bits in it, but I think it could’ve been truly spooky!

7. What’s your favorite book that takes place in October?

Oh god. I’m so terrible at this kind of thing… like, I couldn’t tell you!?

And that’s it for today! Last week’s tag was a mammoth one, so I figured today’s needed to be much shorter!

Are you a Halloween fan?
Do you like a scary book?
Can you recommend me any scary, but not scary, books?

I worried when I saw this tag that it was a cry for help because Hyped for Halloween did not sound like you. I love Amelia Fang and The Witches.
