S4S – LGBT books I’d recommend…

Good morning!

It’s the first #SixforSunday of June, which means we’ve got a WHOLE NEW MONTH of prompts to think about! How exciting! As a reminder, the prompts for June’s #SixforSunday are:

June: Celebrating all the pride!

7th: Recommend some LGBT+ books
14th: Favourite LGBT+ characters
21st: Favourite LGBT+ romances
28th: Your dream LGBT+ ships

You’ll find the banners for these prompts in yesterday’s blog post (if you’d like to use them!). I am ALWAYS looking for more recommendations for books that have diverse rep in them ESPECIALLY if they’re kids book! So please shout them at me!

But you’re here for today’s post, where I will be giving you:

LGBT+ books I’d recommend

Now, I’m going for 3 MG books and 3 YA books because it’s SO LOVELY to get to recommend MG books that have LGBT rep in them! These books have a lovely mix of rep in them! They’re books that I love and enjoyed thoroughly!

S4S June week 1

The Love Hypothesis – Laura Steven (YA)

Jack of Hearts and Other Parts – L.C.Rosen (YA)

The Lovers’ Dictionary – David Levithan (YA)

And Then I Turned Into A Mermaid – Laura Kirkpatrick (MG)

Rick – Alex Gino (MG)

The Strangeworlds Travel Agency – L.D.Lapinski (MG)

I found this really hard to do… only getting 6! I could recommend like 600 haha! But I wanted to get a mix of MG and YA in there!

I’d love to know which books are on your list! Share your lists with me using the hashtag #SixforSunday and I will check them out!

DON’T FORGET AT 6PM I’LL BE HOSTING A TWITTER CHAT ON THE #SIXFORSUNDAY HASHTAG TALKING ALL ABOUT BOOKS!

See you next week!

I read Alex Gino’s much-lauded book ‘George’ a while back, and while I enjoyed it I wasn’t absolutely crazy about it like a lot of people were. Would you say you liked ‘Rick’ better or not quite as much as ‘George?’
