HOLA AMIGOS
How are we all?
How are we getting on with #SixforSunday this month? Has your TBR grown (of course)? Has it shrunk (LOL)? Are you more aware of what’s on it (every book ever)?
Today, we’re here to talk:
2019 books I want to read
So these are 6 books released this year that I want to read – whether I own them or not. (I probably do, let’s be fair)
- We Won An Island – Charlotte Lo
I don’t actually own this yet… but I want to. So I shall have to purchase it for myself. I have heard such great things about this! - On The Come Up – Angie Thomas
As you have all seen, I haven’t read THUG yet, so I’ll probably have an Angie Thomas duet going on later this year. I went to the Angie Thomas event in Newcastle and she was brilliant. - King of Scars – Leigh Bardugo
We all know I am a MASSIVE Kaz Brekker fan, but I haven’t read the Grisha trilogy, so I’m still putting off reading King of Scars til I’ve managed to read them! - The Curses – Laure Eve
Now, let’s just have a discussion about this cover. It doesn’t match my The Graces cover and I’m SAD. SAD GUYS. Anyway, I loved The Graces and I bought The Curses because I need to know what happens next… I just have not picked it up to read yet. - A Curse So Dark and Lonely – Bridget Kemmerer
Reasons I want to read this: the cover and it’s a BATB retelling (I think!). Reasons I have not picked it up yet: IT SEEMS SO LONG. - Five Feet Apart – Rachel Lippincott
My friend Rachel has been RAVING about this for a few weeks now… so I guess that means it automatically goes onto my TBR pile. I also was at the Simon and Schuster event where they shared the film trailer with us and I don’t think I’m quite ready for this…
And there we go. Are there MANY other books that could’ve gone on this list? 100%. These were just the first 6 I could think of!
Don’t forget to share your choices with me. Share them on twitter using #SixforSunday so I can share them with the world!
Prompts for the rest of the year will be shared next week. I can’t wait for you guys to see them! Some of them are my favourite prompts I’ve ever thought up! Thanks again for joining in and being so lovely. You are all my heroes!

I’m starting We won an Island today (only reason it’s not on my list!) I’m swept up in the idea of it all!

After I’ve read The Deathless Girls, I will be reading We Won an Island. I went to the book launch yesterday and met Charlotte. It was lovely to hear her inspiration for the story and to listen to her read an extract.

King of Scars & ACSDAL are too good! Great list and I’ll definitely be checking out some of the other books on it 😊

I’m reading King of Scars at the moment and I would definitely recommend reading The Grisha trilogy and possibly rereading Six of Crows/ Crooked Kingdom before reading it as it took me a few chapters to remember who everyone is and how they’re related to each other.
I’ve read Five Feet Apart and A Curse So Dark and Lonely and enjoyed both – the other three are on the TBR pile!

I’m so pleased I’m not the only blogger in the UK that still has to read both THUG and On The Come Up! I also have The Curses to read, I still have The Graces to read as well, fortunately I didn’t buy it until after The Curses came out so I have the matching cover from the re-release.
