What I’ve been watching… #2

I posted one of these posts a few weeks ago and was surprised by how popular it was! Who knew you guys would be so invested in the films that I’d been watching… luckily, the film loving person in my life is still around and I am still going to the cinema all the time with her (so prepare yourself for one of these more and more often ha).

Death on the Nile

This was one of those films that I’d seen trailer after trailer for and was intrigued by how beautiful it looked. And I was not wrong: this was gorgeously shot and I think I could watch movies shot in this era for hours. Who doesn’t love sitting and watching gorgeous shots over the Nile and a gorgeous cast? I didn’t see the killer being who it was, but that’s cause I was engrossed in the story (I haven’t read the books!). Thoroughly enjoyed the murder mystery and the stories of everyone. It was brilliantly cast (for the most part). Kenneth Branagh is bloody brilliant as Poirot.

Unchartered

We’d seen the trailer for this umpteen times and I was really looking forward to seeing this (I guess that’s what happens when you go to the cinema all the time eh? ha). This was just fun after fun and so filled with action. I didn’t realise it was based on a game! I am definitely looking forward to the next one! Tom Holland is just lush (which I already knew based on Spidey), and I think him and Mark Wahlberg as a duo are brilliant. They had proper good craic with each other. I loved trying to solve the mystery along with them – and I inevitably did not haha. This is full of double crossing, secrets and action… which for me is like a wonderful combination!

Candyman

I am not a big fan of the old horror genre, but my lady friend is a BIG FAN. I bought this for her because she talked about wanting it and I was curious about it (like morbidly curious?!). So this was my first time seeing this (I’ve not seen the original yet… I have been told that is to come haha) and it kept me on the edge of my seat. The story itself? Terrifying. The acting and the way it looked was incredible. His transformation from the bee sting was horrific and pretty repulsive. The scene at the end with the saw? No thanks. Really enjoyed this… despite being terrified.

We’ve been watching through the whole of the MCU so maybe some day I’ll post my thoughts on each of those too!

If you’d like more film reviews, let me know!

Have you seen any of these?
Are you a big film buff?

Let me know in the comments your thoughts!
