Good morning everyone!
I hope you are all doing well, and are not feeling the sadness of winter too much! Today’s ThursTAG post is actually brought to you by ME, well… I’m doing a tag that past me did. If you’re interested in seeing what 2019 Steph chose as her answers to this, click on this here link. I’m HOPING that the answers I choose this year will be different! I’ll go with ONLY books I’ve read this year so that they will definitely be different!
ONE: WHAT BOOK IS SO HAPPY AND SO SWEET THAT IT JUST WARMS YOUR HEART?
Any time Alice writes something with Nick and Charlie, I just get so happy. I adored This Winter and I think everyone should buy it if they want some joy in their life!
TWO: WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE BOOK WITH A WHITE COVER?
Have I read a book this year with a white cover?! Apparently, I’ve read a few. My favourite of the white covered books is definitely Rick. Alex Gino writes brilliant stories with diverse rep in them, and this one is no different. Give me more kids with LGBTQIA+ rep in them please world!
THREE: YOU’RE SITTING IN A NICE, COMFORTABLE CHAIR WITH A CUP OF HOT CHOCOLATE. WHAT MONSTER BOOK ARE YOU READING?
Monster as in a scary character? Or Monster as in a LONG ASS BOOK? Let’s go monster as in scary book. The first, and probably most memorable, monster I’ve read recently is the beast from The Beast and the Bethany. Loved this!
FOUR: ITS SNOWING OUTSIDE AND YOU DECIDE YOU WANT TO HAVE A SNOWBALL FIGHT. WHAT FICTIONAL CHARACTER DO YOU WANT TO HAVE THIS SNOWBALL FIGHT WITH?
None of them? I hate snow. Wait. No, I don’t hate snow; I hate having to DO ANYTHING in snow. If I can just sit inside and watch the snow and enjoy its beauty, then we’re canny… but as soon as I have to FUNCTION in snow, I’m out. Give me a question about who I want to snuggle inside with and then I’ll be a bit more stuck haha!
FIVE: SADLY, YOUR CAMPFIRE IS DYING. WHAT LAST FEW CHAPTERS OF A BOOK WOULD YOU THROW IN THE FIRE TO REVIVE IT AND KEEP YOURSELF WARM?
Oooooh. Which ending did I not like? There are ANY NUMBER of books whose endings I’d throw into the fire because I didn’t want them to end (Lapinski, I’m looking at you), but an ending I didn’t like? I don’t have one that instantly pops into mind!
SIX: WHAT BOOK DO YOU LOVE SO MUCH THAT YOU WOULD BUY ANOTHER COPY OF IT TO GIVE TO SOMEONE AS A CHRISTMAS GIFT (OR ANY GIFT REALLY) TO INSPIRE THEM TO START READING?
I have SO SO MANY. If I had to pick one kids book and one MG book that I’ve read in 2020 to inspire someone to start reading? Orphans of the Tide by Struan Murray and Hold Back the Tide by Melinda Salisbury (totally unplanned that they’re both Tide books).
SEVEN: WHO DO YOU TAG?
All of you. None of you. Whoever!
TA DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. All done!
Did my revelation about snow surprise you?
Did any of my choices shock you?
Would you have chosen differently for any?
Let me know in the comments!
