ThursTAG: Back to School tag

Hola Thursday friends!

How are you all doing? How is your week going? What have you been up to this week?

This was our first week back at work after the Summer holidays so I figured this was as good a time as any to do the Back to School book tag! I’m not sure if I’ve ever done this blog tag before (*checks* I have: I did it last year – Back to School Book Tag)

Anyway… let’s get on with this! If you fancy having a go at this, please do! If this is your tag, please let me know!

***

ENGLISH – NAME YOUR FAVOURITE AUTHOR’S (OR BOOK’S) WRITING STYLE

Lol, this OBVIOUSLY is really bloody predictable because it’s Queen Mel, however, if I’m allowed to pick another one, I’d go for Laura Steven. Her books are just brilliantly funny and she writes the most wonderful characters.

MATHS – A BOOK THAT MADE YOU FRUSTRATED

Llama Out Loud by Annabelle Sami because the llama did my BLOODY HEAD IN. He’s a brilliant character that I know kids will love, but as an adult, my god he did my napper in haha!

SCIENCE – A BOOK THAT MADE YOU THINK

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. This is such an incredibly wonderful book. It’s about a young woman who visits the Midnight Library and lives a load of different lives as if she’d chosen a very slightly life path and comes to realise a few things as she lives them all. (That is a HORRIBLE synopsis and I’m so sorry). It’s such a brilliant look at life and I’m very much a person who mulls over ‘what ifs’ from when I was younger.

SOCIAL STUDIES/HISTORY – YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK FROM A DIFFERENT TIME PERIOD

Ha, living up to my WW2 loving infamy, The Midnight Guardians by Ross Montgomery is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. I can’t get over how much I loved that book. I’ve been trying to put together a review since I read it and I just am struggling (does anyone else find that book they LOVE are the hardest to write reviews for?)

ART – YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK WITH PICTURES

Every and any book with illustrations is a winner for me! I love an illustrated book. I’ve recently got into reading graphic novels and the graphic novel version of The Witches (yes, the Roald Dahl book) is absolutely incredble. Can recommend 100%.

DRAMA – A BOOK YOU WOULD LOVE TO TURN INTO A MOVIE

I’d LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Pages and Co by Anna James made into a movie or a TV show. I think it would be absolutely magical!

MUSIC – NAME A CHARACTER YOU THINK (OR KNOW) WOULD HAVE THE SAME MUSICAL TASTE AS YOU

I’m rubbish at this question, so if anyone knows me and would like to answer it for me, I’m more than happy to take your answers!

LUNCH – A FOOD YOU WOULD LOVE TO TRY

ALL THE FOOD. Not a recent read, but any of the food cooked in With The Fire On High by Elizabeth Acevedo.

BUS RIDE HOME – A BOOK OR AUTHOR THAT IS RELAXING

Y’know what I read recently that I felt was like a friend talking to me? Once Upon A Tyne by Ant and Dec. It was absolutely glorious. I love them and I love being a Geordie.

EXTRA CREDIT – A BOOK SOMEONE ELSE TOLD YOU TO READ AND YOU ENDED UP ENJOYING

My lovely friend L.D Lapinski (lol look at me saying an author is my friend) told me I’d love My Life As A Cat by Carlie Sorosiak and MY GOD DID I. Easily in my top 5 books of the year. I just adored it!

And there you go! I’d love to know your thoughts on this! What would your answers be? Have you got a character who would be me with music tastes?
