Morning!
A massive thanks for stopping by again today!
Every month, I’m going to be taking one of the Spotlight Author’s books and creating some ‘readalike’ recommendations for the books. Now these might not be books that are exactly the same, but they’re books that I would recommend for children who enjoy the author’s spotlight book.
This month’s recommendations come courtesy of Mel Taylor-Bessent’s Race to Imagination Island. Check out Mel’s Q&A from last week if you haven’t already!

Race to Imagination Island

Observers! Dreamers! Inventors! Explorers! The time has come to crown four new Protectors of Imagination Island. Do YOU have what it takes to win the Race?
The time has come for four children to be named the new Protectors of Imagination Island. Children all over the world scour the globe in search of lightstreams (portals) to the magical island where anything they imagine comes to life. To become a Protector, they must compete in teams and complete a series of challenges to prove they have what it takes.
Dreamy 10-year-old Luca is afraid of everything, not least the lightstream he stumbles into by accident. Imagination Island is everything that he’s terrified of. But there’s no way out. So he hits on a plan. Work out how to come LAST, and get sent home. That’s what he really wants. Isn’t it
The Race is ON!
The third book in this series is actually out TOMORROW, so what a perfect time to go treat yourself to this whole trilogy!
If you love something adventurous, thrilling and filled with friendships, then I’d definitely give Race to Imagination Island a read… if you HAVE read it already and you’re after something LIKE it, why not check out the recommendations below?

Something here for everyone!
I’d love to know YOUR recommendations for this brilliant series too! Leave them in the comments, or get in touch via Instagram (@thisgeordieteaches)
